Ecometric Webinar

16 Feb 2022

Ecometric Webinar A description of the Eco-metric process, developed by the universities of Birmingham, Northumbria and Oxford, and the Consultancy for Environmental Economics and Policy, the Ecosystems Knowledge Network, and the Centre for Ecology and Hydrology.

Aim is to extend the Defra/ Natural England biodiversity metric to include ecosystems services. The biodiversity metric considers, among other things, the size, distinctiveness and condition of a site that may be affected by development. The eco-metric approach replaces “distinctiveness” with a number of scores relating to the habitat type’s ability to deliver ecosystem services.
